Originally commissioned by Magdalen College Oxford to commemorate the 550th anniversary of the foundation of the college in 1998, Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart) was written for Magdalen College Choir by Sir Paul McCartney. It is scored for choir and orchestra and there are four movements, each of which begins with unaccompanied voices and the text combines both English and Latin. The music is full of colour and drama and, of course, a wealth of glorious McCartney melody.
